About Starstuff Photography
Starstuff Photography is the creative work of Adam Balbi, a digital artist capturing land, sea, street, and sky. Every image in this collection is available as a print, produced by Bay Photo Lab on archival materials.
The Photographer
By day, Adam is a packaging scientist with deep experience in design, development, and engineering. He has worked with global teams on everything from packaging innovation to quality control on production lines, with skills spanning Solidworks, ArtiosCAD, and AutoCAD.
Outside of packaging, Adam serves as a Wildfire Protection strike team leader and is passionate about public education. He renders photorealistic 3D models and textures from aerial survey and ground-based image captures, including depth elevation models for coastal erosion monitoring and textured artifact and landmark preservation. He brings these STEM topics to the public through the library system and other outreach venues.
He is also a dedicated cat dad.
The Craft
Adam's photography spans astrophotography, aurora and comet chasing, panoramic landscapes, street scenes, and nature photography from hikes through places like Harriman State Park. His technical background in 3D modeling and photogrammetry gives him a unique eye for light, texture, and composition. Each image is carefully processed to reflect the scene as experienced: vivid but honest.
